It can be very stressful, often there are times when none of the reactions work properly or don’t do what you expect. But this is also what makes it intersting as then you have to think of new ways to do things. Most of the time it is great, honest!

About 3 weeks ago an experiment I was doing didn’t work because a powercut stopped the machine from running overnight. It meant that I lost about 3 weeks’ worth of work and I was very annoyed! I’d say when things like that happen is the worst thing. It’s made up for when things go right though!

hmmmm tough one… I’m trying to think of a reason that applies just to scientist… because all jobs can be stressful at times. I honestly don’t know… every bad reason I think of actually has a positive reason attached to it.

It’s rubbish when things go wrong. I used to work on animal behaviour and hated it when my little critters got ill or died. It can be a bit stressful too, if you have a big deadline for example. But on balance, it’s not so bad – I would have stopped it years ago if it was too horrible.
