  If you don’t finish your antibiotics the bacteria can become resistant to them, so next time you take them they don’t work. Usually if this happens the doctor would give you a different antibiotic.
  
  Weak antibiotics just stop bacteria growing, but stronger ones kill them. The problem is that lots of antibiotics are related, so if resistance to one happens it can also protect against others.
