I’m not a lab-based scientist like most of the other scientists, instead I use science knowledge to help people better understand how some diseases work & how they can be treated. I guess my goal now is to help people understand about the best drug choice that they can make to help someone get better.

My goal is to understand how bacteria survive in their environment and can use different food sources. With this knowledge I want to re-engineer bacteria to do useful things for us, like make new drugs, or biofuels.

I’m still learning at university so not totally sure of my career goals yet. But at the moment I want to show how we can modify proteins to create nanoarchitecture and nanoscale drug delivery vehicles.

I’m coming to the end of my PhD so my immediate goal is to finish the experiments I’m working on so I can finish that. After that I’ll need to get a new job in science – so my goal is to study at a different university and use my science to understand how to stop diseases!
