In a nutshell, my work involves using proteins as building blocks (a bit like lego) to build new protein-based nanomaterials, which can be used for tissue engineering, nanomaterial synthesis, and drug delivery.

The building blocks that I am currently using are called ‘linear repeat proteins’. These proteins can be designed to be super strong, springy, and serve loads of important functions within our bodies. So they’re perfect building blocks to build some pretty cool stuff with!
